It depends on the airlines and your cabin class. The international rule is one piece of baggage cannot be in excess of 32 kg. You can check in more than that but must be splitted up into more than one bag and you will have to pay overweight charge (if economy) and the charge is different from one airline to another and may be different from one country of departure to another.
Generally 20 kg is the limit for economy class. If the staff is nice, you may get away with 30 kg. I always travel with more than 20 kg and never have problem with that. Normally up to 25 kg, you won't be charged (economy). If you fly business or first class, you will have more baggage allowance (30 - 50 kg). Gotta check with the airline.

This summer, when I was going to California, I think that the baggage weight was 72. That weight was for under the airplane. I think that the carry on weight was like 30 or something. Call the airport if you really are not sure! hope I could help :)

For USAir it is 50 lbs. per bag and you can take 2, this is within the US. For international it is different and I'm not positive. You can find the information on the airlines web site.

usually 20kg. yet you may desire to envision with Emirates. Your value ticket would enable greater luggage or limit your luggage decrease. From journey, the luggage allowance is often stipulated on your reserving value ticket or despite reference you have gotten from the reserving (eg. interior the e mail, if yours is an digital reserving). whether, you could continuously call them as much as envision.
