It's not only possible, its probable. In view of the aging Russian early warning systems, a nuclear war could happen at any time. You hear of all the talk about Iran and terrorists getting ahold of A nuke. Little is heard about the two bulls in the glass shop.

The arsenals of the US and Russia are the scary scenarios when you're talking nuclear war. Not so much the US causing it, but mainly from an accidental launch by the Russians thinking that NATO or the US launched against them. It nearly happened in 1995, when the Russian 'suitcase' with the launch codes was activated for the first time in history....and this was in the POST-Cold War!!!

yes a nuclear war is possible technology provided will allow more
third world countries to obtain an arnisol of nuclear weapons North Korea is a Spartan state and they may sell there bombs for bread to tarriest organizations Israel now has a small ballistic sub fleet of 3 dolphin submarines remember in the 50's they build a small atomic bomb that was only 1.1 lbs its just a matter of time
with all the unrest in the middle east Israel will use a first strike if they are threatened. After the cold war I'm sure Russia did not account for everything.

Some people say that there will be a nuclear war in the future. I believe that ther will not be one because no one wants to be the country to attack first. The North Koreans sure as hell might be the ones to attack with their missile but they know that if they do attack that it will not only be the United States but China and the countries of Nato that will attack them. They only use their weapons as scare tactics. The North Koreans have lead their people to believe that the war with the United States is not over. There are no Americans in that country. A nuclear war would destroy the planet.

As mentioned, there are many nuclear countries and standoffs at the moment. North Korea and South Korea and United States. Russia and the United States. China and Taiwan and the United States, France and England and Russia, Pakistan and India, Israel and soon to be nuclear Iran,

Yes completely possible. I just hope that the world is smart enough to realize that it would end the world and not their problem. If America was attacked by a nuke, I would hope that the American government does not use nuclear bombs in repercussion. Instead use every bit of military might and power to destroy the enemy, without spreading radiation into our air.

I doubt it, mainly due to the fact that it'd mean the country who started it would also be destroyed... and then everyone else probably. There are chances of dirty bombs, but that's not on a global scale, nor is it exactly a nuclear bomb. Dirty bombs just tend to have bits of nuclear waste stuck to them, so when they explode it goes everywhere, but not like a nuke in a mushroom cloud.

entirely possible, and entirely likely.
As nuclear weapons proliferate throughout the world, eventually someone will get the bright idea that one can actually win a nuclear encounter, and find/make up an excuse to launch one.
Not a matter of if, but when

it somewhat is a probability. an rather small one, yet that possibility is there. greater advantageous international places with progressed nuclear weapons, Russia, China etc have greater to lose with a nuclear conflict, comparable with the U.S. this is greater of a examine and balances. Nuclear weapons supply an "umbrella" of protection that permit us to apply our in many circumstances occurring forces as needed. Nukes are a deterrent and a final hotel at ultimate. Smaller international places that are radical and don't take area lots economically don't have as lots to lose and don't care. they are lots greater concerned with the assertion of attacking the U.S. or one in all our allies than something. Terrorists getting a carry of a nuke is achieveable and something we could continuously hassle approximately, yet terrorists don't have the skill or technologies to construct a weapon. whether they have been given a carry of adequate fissionable fabric they does not be waiting to make lots greater advantageous than a grimy bomb. Even on the off probability of a terrorists team gaining administration of a U.S. nuke they does not be waiting to detonate it. particular they'd us in many circumstances occurring explosives to spark off the in many circumstances occurring interior the Nuke itself as a result freeing "unsafe" supplies and making a large number yet there could be no probability of an entire nuclear detonation. the only probability they have is determining to purchase a nuke from a rogue united states that has the ability and understand how. so a good distance as a nuclear conflict, i in my opinion don't think it is going to ensue in our lifetime. there is to lots for the international to lose, yet you by no ability understand.

I'm thinking no on a full scale war, but dirty bombs.... oh, yeah, I see that happening sooner rather than later. It's rather frightening.

Look at what Russia did to that spy in London, they poisoned him, and there are traces of PLO210 in 5 different places.

Iran North Korea the US and Israel are the most likely to start one in my opinion .

I am not sure it is very hard to predict - The big problem of course is that it only takes one mistake one mad man For instance Bush .
