I am on lexapro and i havent felt this good in a long time. the worst thing that i experience is that i dont feel my emotions very well anymore. i am numb. like when i know that i am feeling sad but yet i dont, if that makes much sense. i also like to do art and while i am on it i cant my creativity sucks. but i am willing to deal with it because it is better to be on then to not be. you will need to give it several weeks to start working and even then it might not start right away the dosage might need to be adjusted. my advice, give it time :) good luck!

I have taken Lexapro for years now and I tried to go off it because I thought I was better. Well I was because I was on it. I guess I thought I could do it myself but when you have Depression it is a disease. If you were Diabetic would you stop your medication too? If you had high blood pressure would you stop taking that? I luckily haven't had any side effects with it, I feel like there is something out there now, I felt like i was stuck in a dark cloud and since taking this I feel so much better. At the begining you may get a little jittery, shaky, dizzy but your body is adjusting to the medication. Give it the time to adjust and you will see how good you feel. You don't know how bad you feel until you feel better. I know I would tell myself, "i'm not that bad". But once I started taking this, I feel SOOOO much better. Just know there are many medications out there. If this one isn't the right one don't be discouraged, and just try something else.

I tried Lexapro for 2 weeks. The first week I didn't notice very much difference, except that I could get out of bed easier. The second week I was hitting the ground running! Feeling better than I had in years. Then, on the 4th day of the 2nd week, I had an allergic reaction to it and had to go to the ER - hives, swelling, difficulty breathing, etc. BAD STUFF I hate that my body had this reaction to it because it was really helping my depression.
