Try the Institute for Animal Care Education (IACE)
or the Association of Pet Behaviour Councillors (APBC)
or the Association of Pet Dog Trainers (APDT)

You should be able to find their web sites using the initials or full names.

They all either run courses or will be able to give you more information.

Southampton University does a course in Animal Behaviour.

If you are interested in a career as a dog behaviourist you also need to learn about human psychology because of the close relationship many people have with their dogs and their emotional involvment.

You also need counselling skills as it can be very difficult telling people things they don't want to hear. Counselling techniques can help the owner work some things out themselves about their relationship with their pets. Often unwanted behaviour in the dog has been caused, inadvertently, by the owner and this can be difficult to deal with.

Oh goody, a chance to talk about the APDT. That stands for the Association of Pet Dog Trainers. They have a great website that can connect you with training seminars, lectures, and an online correspondence course (sounds like something good for you?) The link on the left in the green field that says "Dog training career" is what you want.
As an aside, really any class, lecture, etc. that will teach you about Operant Conditioning and the history of humans learning how to teach animals would be good to take. The ideas behind positive dog training didn't all begin with dogs - and the techniques used to learn about dogs and dog behavior have their roots in many other species. Check Karen Pryor's website and hang on to your hat - she and her trainers have done some amazing things. Actually, KP's site is another good place to look for lectures and seminars.....have fun!

are you talking about a college course? do a search for animal behavior within your college.

if you're a dog owner looking for advice, search your area for local dog trainers or behaviorists who can work with you and teach you things.
