American soldiers are being killed at an alarming rate the nation the were going to liberate is on the brink of civil war and is now forced to appeal to Iran for help .

The "rebels" are economically self sufficient etc etc.

So my question is do the Americans know how badly they are loseing and are you guys happy that all your dead soldiers have made the world less safe and left choas and anarchy in it's place?

naomijoan...

My point is that there are a lot of dead US soldiers that have given their lives for absolutely nothing - and that is a shame - A shame to the government who sent them a shame for the families that lost them.

There was no reason for that war they had no involvement with 9/11 and the US had no business disrupting millions of lives paying for the anarchy and heartache with American soldiers blood .

It is shameful that a generation of young men are gone for nothing . They have been killed by thier own government and it is a great shame that those who sent them into death for no reason will retire with a fat pension and don't you worry thier children didn't see any fighting or any death etc

If you believe Bush, which I don't, we won the same year we started. What's going on now is peace and nation building. What happened in Nam, and I was on active duty during the last three years, I retired at 20 years after Desert Storm, was that the Republicans, Nixon and Ford, caved as a result of public pressure and discontent with the body count. Since Bush dodged service, I think has no understanding of that, and has set us up for the same result. I will point out that our troops have done a lot of good for the Iraqis, I think our service people are the best of our best, my own daughter and her husband are on active duty. Yes, I think a lot of us know the invasion was a mistake, I said so from day one, right now the question is how to fix it, and that is not something we will be able to do in a hurry. Sad, but fact of life.

It is not the soldiers that make the decision, it is our government. So why the hell are you picking on the dead soldiers. Is it their fault that the government is run by idiots no!!!!!!!. Watch what you are saying. A lot of soldiers have previously and currently died to keep you safe so back off of them and put your anger towards you ones in congress and the white that are pulling the strings. No one is happy for this war except Bush. Support the troops . Some of them are commiting suicide which you don't hear in the news. Some have lost their wives and children because they have been gone so long. Mothers and fathers have died that they are not get a chance to say good bye to because they are so far away overseas. Our Soldiers are losing more than their lives. What do you have to say about that.

sorry you're incorrect we lost the marketing campaign to take Canada which became in the course of the conflict of 1812 we gained the conflict lost the marketing campaign. As for Vietnam that became technically no longer a loss both as we exceeded the completed mess over to South Vietnam. 2 years later they lost their conflict. Iraq remains a artwork in progression will see if the authorities holds mutually then we can see. even though it form of feels that at worst we would have yet another Vietnam variety technical loss. It does although appear as if the authorities will delay for the longer time period so no authentic losses for the united states as of yet.

Our first mistake was not cleaning Saddams clock the VERY first time he hindered the UN Inspections of WMD. By his OWN stupidity, if he had allowed access to everything HE agreed to during the first Gulf war, he would have had no problems. I am in amazement that The US citizens, who give more aid to other countries than any other country in the world is so picked on and turned against. It reminds me of parents who give their children everything they ask for and the brats only end up wanting more and hating their parents. I hope the world knows that sooner or later, the US will turn it's back on all of these blood sucking countries that keep wanting and wanting but give nothing but grief in return. I am just betting you are from one of those countries. I love America because we as American people tolerate and even encourage our citizens to speak out, for or against the war. Everyone has a say, but no matter what our say is, we all still love and respect our members of the Armed Forces, since we are smart enough to know they are not the ones making the call to go to war, but only follow orders. I hope the country you are from allows you this same privilege, but I doubt that is the case. However upset you are, even you must know how stupid a question it is to ask if it's OK that Human Beings die for any un-natural reasons. I hope you get your answer here you are looking for, but I doubt you'd know the right one, even it it bit you in the keester..

compare daily deaths from vietnam to iraq today... soldiers aren't dying at an alarming rate.

Its war, people are going to die.

No, we are not happy that they are dying, but their deaths have not made the world less safe, and they have not left chaos and anarchy in their place. Go back 10 years and browse the news from that same area, not a whole lot has changed.

Obviously, you are not an american, so if your country is not involved in the solution, butt out.

Iraq has not played itself out yet and we have neither won or lost. The United States is very capable of fielding the most powerful army the world has to seen and if it has the will it could swamp Iraq with a field army. Remember the entire population of Iraq is under 30 million people, the United States has 300 million... you do the math

I'd just like to point out that us british can't really talk, as we went into Iraq as well.
But it is true that the vietnam war was won by the North Vietnamese, they knew the land and they were uber resourceful. But I'm not sure whether it classes as america loosing, because technically they left before the war was lost. So South Vietnam were the ones who lost, really.

Are we losing? I keep hearing people proclaim that - but the Iraq people seem to be making steady progress in stabilizing their government and creating an army and police that can protect them from the terrorists.

BTW - the next time your country needs help from the US, we will laugh at you.

Do you know that you are an idiot? My husband is serving over there for his third tour. He has voluntarily gone each time. Our two children and I stay home and take care of ourselves here. He is fighting for our rights as Americans. He is defending our country so that people like you can say the nasty and hateful things you say. You should go over there and personally see what good we are doing. Never go by what the media tells and shows you. I have learned more about this war than most people by listening to my husband and what is truly going on over there. I support him and all of our fellow troops. It is sad that we have lost soldiers, but that is what they signed up for when they joined the military. They signed up to fight for their country. The dead soldiers did not make the world less safe, it is ignorance and crime that has make the world less safe.
