The only thing you can do is put ice on it or run cold water over it.I am a C.N.A. and they say to definitly avoid sabs and lintamints.I know one old wives tale was to put butter on a burn but do not do that. Serioiusly. just run cold water over it or apply ice. Hope ya feel better.

Use ice first. Immerse your hand in ice water. Then apply an antiseptic cream, or as one answerer suggested, aloe vera gel... but get the real thing... buy an aloe plant and extract the gel!

It would have worked better if you had done it right away, but it will still help, as long as the skin isn't broken. Put cider vinegar {brown} vinegar on a papertowel and hold the paper towel for awhile, or soak the burn in a dish of brown vinegar. Next time you get burned put it in vinegar right away, it is amazing how well it works.

I know that Aloe Vera gel helps relieve burning pain, as it makes it feel cool, but depending on how badly you are burned, it may or may not be very effective.

Aloe Vera or ice (in a bowl). Don't put butter or oil on it it will keep the heat in and make it worse.
