yes it is very serious. pls go to the dr and have it checked.i say this only from experience with my father. his dr ordered a chest xray and sent him to a specialist which confirmed the mass in dads lungs and behind them was lung cancer.after a week of more xrays and cat scans it was determined that it had spread to his throat and brain. so you see it is very serious. we lost dad on thanksgiving day and buried him yesterday. so pls go have it checked ok

Apart from a couple of blatantly rude people on here, do people just think you walk down to your hospital and say "biopsy please"? It needs to be the correct path clinically to follow.

The fact that you have a previous malignancy, and that you have a mass does render it into the serious catagory, but that doesn't mean it is another cancer, or spread from your previous one, it could be something entirely unrelated. Have faith in your medical team, and if you have any concerns, it is probably best to voice them with the team directly and avoid the rather rude responses some have given you on here.

I wish you all the best.

A mass may be malignant or benign. You must get a needle biopsy to know which it is. If it is cancerous it needs to be staged to see how far advanced the cancer is . Lung cancer can metastasize to other areas.
Do NOT delay getting your biopsy. This can be very serious.

This mass will need a biopsy doing on it. I would be taking it rather seriously but try to relax, what will be will be and if it's cancerous you will need the strength to fight it and have the treatment necessary. Very best wishes.....remember it could be nothing xxxx

Do you think it's perfectly normal to have a cancerous mass in your chest?

Of course it's serious. Jeesh!

Firstly they need to determine what the mass is...a series of tests will determine this..then you will be told how serious it is...whether or not is has progressed if it is cancer, whether is is treatable...etc...speak to your doc...good luck
