People that want to better their life and come here legally are welcomed but all I ever see on this immigration portal is US bashing- bashing our Citizens, our governement, our flag, our language, our lifestyles, our history, our society... so why in a country that seems to be full of racist, immoral, people do they want to come here.. if we are so horrible why do they want to come here and are fighting so hard to get rights to be here... If we are so horrible why don't they want to stay in their own country. If someone wants to live somewhere for a better life, then why don't they seem to appreciate the country they want to go too

*this is not to say that all illegal immigrants feel this way, I'm talking about all the bashing that goes on in Yahoo Anwers *

GREAT question. Especially since so many countries do not allow their native citizens to talk badly about them.

To me, the fact that Americans enjoy so many freedoms and opportunities for wealth causes others to be jealous of us. The jealousy is often expressed through bashing. For me the proof that America is a great country is reflected by the number of people who try so hard to get here. If this country and its citizens were as bad as the people bashing it thought, we wouldn't have the illegal immigration problems, nor would so many people make the effort to come here to live legally, or to become naturalized citizens.

I dont think they come here to socialize with the natives, so I believe that you're already thinking wong in assuming that the attitudes of American's towards illegals is going to sway their decision to come here one way or another. They come here because they know that there are employers willing to hire them all over the place. And even if they are only getting $4-5 an hour, that is still 4-5 times more than they are getting in Mexico. Whatever bashing you see on this forum, from whatever point of view you're referring to is simply a reaction to what is said here, half of which I bet you would not be said in person to anyone on either side.

I don't think the question is stupid. It is all so true.
I agree that if immigrants don't like our country, then they can just go home.
I also think they should all have to learn English and speak it here in the US.
I don't think our country should be overcome with all these immigrants either. There has to be a stopping place. We can't take care of everyone in the world, neither can we police the world and fix their problems (That's a whole new discussion)
Again I agree with you 100% and so do most Americans who love their country like you do.

They come here for a hand out If I thought the people of a country hated me and were racist I would never go there. That is just the proof that they are here for the free bee's.They have turned their own country into trash and ours is going the same way. You think instead of protesting here they could at least say thank you. And we are sorry we would like to come here legaly could you show us the way.

The only way I can understand it is either the US, with all it's flaws is THAT much better than their country, or they're just bashing on the country because they were denied entry; kinda like how someone is automatically the worst person in the world if they don't go out with them.

See, here in America is seems very "cool" to bash our government, our way of life. Ask the moonbats, they started it.

My husband is a LEGAL immigrant. He's from England. He loves it here, and he still loves England, only, I'd never, EVER live thre, so he stays here. But, he loves it here, and has adapted quite well to customs, foods, music, styles, speech patterns that are different from his homeland. Unlike most of the third world tripe that crawls in here these days illegally.

You gotta understand one thing.

Regarding immigration priority is always given to the wealthy and the talented individuals, those poor people without opportunities in their country are the ones who immigrate the most. Cause if you have money and you're livin well in a place, you think they would want to immigrate some where, heck no.

You gotta understand that most of illegals love this country. They hate just the people that spread all this hatred towards them.

our governement, our flag, our language, our lifestyles, our history, our society... ALL OF THESE THINGS ARE BORROWED! Borrowed from people who immigrate here. They do love this country and if you let the people who are on Yahoo Answers dictate your view of the popular idea within a group, you're most likely going to have a screwed view of the world in general.

It's a site, this is a free speech country, and, as long as laws aren't broken, people are going to be this way. That's life.
