Let's start with what those verses are actually saying.
Matthew 19:17 was in answer to a man who asked Jesus what he could do that was good so that he could get into Heaven.
Jesus was rightly answering that God is the only good therefore you couldn't "do" anything
John 14:28 he was speaking with his followers who were upset because they knew he was going to die soon. He was telling them not to worry because he was going to go where God is which is much better than suffering on Earth
Matthew 5:22 there was a lot of people going around comparing one sin to another such as I'm not that bad because I've never committed murder, but Jesus was saying that all sin is equal even if you have only thought of murder you are just as guilty as one who actually did it because you have still sinned in your heart. Anyone who thinks other wise is a fool
Now I could go into all the places where Jesus did say or confirm that he was Christ (Son of God, Savior, Lord, Messiah, etc) such as in Luke 9:20, Luke 22:70, Matthew 22:32. John 5:36, John 8:28, but I have a feeling you are not searching for Truth, but for conflict. You should put down the atheist handbook and pick up the Bible.

No No No. There is a truine Godhead. God the father, God the son, and the Holy Spirit, who is there to convict. The Godhead consists of three. Jesus says only God the father is good. because He is humble. But in Titus 2:13 it says Jesus is the great God and saviour. 1 John 5:7 says the tree are as one. (Godhead) Acts 5:3-4 says when you lie to the holy spirit, you lie to God. So, Yes, we should worship GOD. the three in one, blessed trinity. I hope this explains why we Christians do worship Jesus, because He is GOD.
and yes Jesus is saying father God is above Him, in the Godhead, father God is head, but all three work together as one. Unless ppl get this, their beliefs in God and His ways will always be messed up. This is an important principle to grasp.
and you are right, if we dont worship God, hell is where we go. So, study up and find out just how to worship God, in entirity. The world Trinity is not in the Bible, but other old words meant things like TRIUNE, such as three. Rapture isnt in the Bible either. But, there were words that meant catching up together in the air that meant the same thing. It would take a long word study of the Old Greek and Hebrew words to get into all of this, this is why we all need to be studying for ourself and seeing just what God did say, and not allowing others to tell us and then accept it as truth.
Since hell fire awaits those not of God, and Jesus is coming soon, no time to waste. Study and pray NOW.

Jesus lived 33 years on Earth as the Son of God. Jesus was sent to teach and die for the sins of man. He returned to the Heavenly Father and rejoined the Trinity - Father, Son, Holy Spirit. I'll be so glad when people stop rifling through the Bible and grabbing little paragraphs to come on here and slam the beliefs of others not knowing what the heck they are talking about.

First, we worship Jesus because we can spell "Christian" (or we know how ot hit the spell check)
Secondly,
The verse you post if you would READ it and not read into it it is quite simple. Jesus was asking the guy who called HIm good "Why" This is about akin to my daughter calling me "Mom" and I ask her "Why do you call me mom" My asking her doesn't disqualify myself from being her mom. Also, the point of "My Father is greater than I" is meaning that at that time Jesus was fully GOd and fully MAN, and He walked the earth. He then (as the bible said) went back to the RIGHT HAND of the Father. Also, Thomas called Him "My Lord and MY GOD" Again, the women worshipped Him when they realized who He was.
But, go ahead, I mean it is funny to see someone try to make some inane point with the scriptures.

One of the things you get from reading the Gospels is that Jesus wasn't always sure that he was Christ, or God. (Jesus actually being God is questionable, though most Christians do believe this for good reason outside the scope of this question. The scripture that unites God and Jesus as the same entity is open to interpretation, though most take the literal interpretation that they are the same.)
Even after Jesus knew his role, he rarely admitted it--he was leading people to God, and would be the route they use to get audience with and remove their separation from God. The closest he came was basically calling Peter smart when Peter called Jesus the Son of Man and Christ (but even there he didn't actually say, "Yes, that's me!"). I think he wanted people to be drawn to God by their hearts, and didn't want to distract people from his primary purpose.

If u read the bible very well u will see it when, the bible said "Upon 1 stone there comes 7 eyes, and those seven eyes are the seven spirits of God,the Angels,Jesus Christ,God ...they are all one,and we Christians worship God cos, the Jesus Christ is the son of God and he said "I am the way,the truth and the life,no one cometh unto thee father unless through me" so if u are not worshiping Jesus, after he died for ur sin and u worship God only, then i must tell u that u are on the WRONG WAY....

God and Jesus, and the Holy Spirit are one 1 in the same. Just take an egg if you seperate the shell, the yolk and the white. It is still an egg. Just because you seperate it does not mean it is not an egg.
