A watermelon is about 90% water and lacking in nutritional value. It's better for you as a liquid-replacement following strenuous activity, but unless you eat the green right up to the rhine, it's just like drinking a small amount of water. Watermelon also has very few calories per bite so eat away.

Bananas are full of potassium and are calorie-rich. They are a good source of energy and useful in replacing potassium followium a strenuous workout or during a strict diet. Bananas are also good if you are suffering from an upset stomach or diarrhea.

Overall, a banana is a better food. But if you're dieting, limit your bananas, and stick to apples and oranges and watermelon.

The banana is definitely better for you... but I think the watermelon is much tastier. Here are some facts just so you know.....

*High in Iron which can help with anemia. *The Vitamin B calms the nerve system. *Curbs nicotine withdrawl. *Cools body, great for pregnant women. *Reduces risk of stroke as much as 40% when incorporated into regular diet. *Reduces stress level. *Balances blood sugar levels which helps kick those cravings for "junk food". *A banana shake (milk banana and honey) can cure a hangover. *Brain power booster... blood pressure reducer.. pms fighter.. the list is endless and bananas win by a landslide.
BTW, I gave a speech on bananas for speech class, thats how I found out all this crazy information.

a banana has a lot of potassium but is heavy on carbs (good carbs though). a watermelon has sugar and thus more calories. in the end the banana has more to offer however you can't go wrong with fruit.

Watermelon. Banana's natural sweetness turns to sugar in your body once you eat it (Like the Potato). IMHO.
