I am looking to start a non-profit program that provides assistance to high school students. I am looking to provide workshops about college admissions as well as funding for application fees, scholarship guidance, and the like. I will be keeping my full time job, just need the capital to promote this program and the $$ for the admission fees.

I would start with grant programs through local stores and agencies. I know Target has an education scholarship, and so does Walmart. Your program may fall under those guidelines. Depending on where you live you may want to check and see what money your county could donate to your cause.

I suggest you first contact your local colleges. They likely have programs in place that are similar that you could add to.

Other than that, check http://www.cfda.gov and http://www.grants.gov
