I do it all the time. The holiday season makes no difference to me. All it does is make it more difficult to help because of all the demands of the season.

I am trying to find some outlets for volunteering this year. Every year our county CPS has a toy drive then gets volunteers to organize the gifts and gift wrap, which I am hoping to get to do. I have requested that when it gets scheduled i be contacted to help out. I was also thinking of volunteering for the large Christmas dinner to help serve the less fortunate a chirstmas dinner on Christmas day.
Who knows what great opportunities I may come by to help out, just got to keep the eyes and ears open.

Its not about the holiday season.. and what holiday by the way. The upcoming HOLIDAY has a name. Its Christmas. Which is about Jesus Christ. We celebrate the day He was born, tho we arent sure of the specific day. But, we are to celebrate Jesus everyday. His birth, life, death and resurrection, for because of this, we have the precious gift of eternal life. Celebrating His birth, is a big event.
But, we arent to live different at Christmas than at any other time.
We are to walk in the spirit of God daily, moment by moment, and be ready to help anyone we can. We are to do this all year thru, like Jesus did, He is our example. Celebrate His birth by determining to life like Him NOW, and all year long.

I think it is especially important to help those less fortunate during the holidays, and I do what I can year round, but maybe a little more during this time of the year.

Can someone tell me why this was reported?
I participate in the elf program (buying gifts off of a wish list for people who would not receive gifts otherwise) and I volunteer my time at various charities throughout the year.
I hope that one day everyone will realize that if you would like to live in a better world all you need to do is roll up your sleeves and make it a better world to live in. Can you imagine the problems we could solve if EVERYONE would do this.

if i could i would give the less forturned families a great holiday season i would give their children presents and i would give the adults what they need for the house like maybe pay some of the bills but the only thing i can do right now is give to the toys for tots bc i my self can barely pay the bills but least i will do that and i adopted a solider bc i want at least one soldier to know that i appreaciate what they do for us. if i could i would do it all year round my goal when i get my job as a interepreter for the deaf is to help them and to get my city to get a homeless shelter that will help the homeless get jobs.

I'll probably talk the talk. I'll say "Yeah, I should do something to help someone out this year" but then in reality I'll probably be too busy to get around to it and gripe about how I wish I HAD done something. At least it's an honest answer.

This type of behavior should not be confined to the holiday season, this act should be preformed through out the year. Whether you are religious or not.

This year I am only taking care of my family. We have had a rough year and are just now getting back on our feet.
In years past, I have helped out others by donating food, clothes, toys and such. I will again next year if things keeping on improving for my family.

Last Christmas our Church youth group went to the homeless shelter on Christmas day and served food and gave presents to the little kids, I hope to do it again this year.
