I was the service manager at a small Ford dealership and saw no problems with the Fusion whatsoever.
Usualy when a car company rolls out a new line, there are bugs that get worked out, recalls and technical service bulletins...but as long as i worked there, no Fusions ever came back with problems...except for one customer that was the most picky person EVER (warped door weather strip, missing trim...which i'm sure dude broke)
so a Fusion is good, good looking, there have been some tuners that did work to the Fusion and they were looking and performing very well. i'm in no way a Ford guy, but that Fusion was looking real nice...especialy at the price.
but, compaired to a Toyota? it's apples to oranges...Toyotas already have a proven track record for longevity, but i have see plenty of 200,000 mile Fords. so it's a toss-up.

Many people will tell you that the Toyota is alot more relaible which is true in some ways, The cars Ford has been building for the last 2-3 years are actually just about as reliable as toyota or honda. What we dont know is how these newer Fords will be when they start to get higher milage i.e. well over 100k miles. We know that Toyota's and Honda's will run pretty well with 2 even 300k miles. That beign said unless your planning on keeping this car for more than 10 years and putting well over 100k miles on it Quality will be about the same for the Camary and the Fusion. If you treat them right they will run fine. So its really up to you, personall preference. What car gives you the options you want or which car is cheaper? Which one looks better to you?

The Ford Fusion is rated higher than the Toyota Camry. It has sold well and people love it. You can expect to keep the Fusion for a long time with little repairs. I think you made a great decision.

yeah. Its a decent car. Doesnt look half bad. And is ranked up there with the camry. Not bad. I would of chosen a new camry but i like the reliability of toyota and hondas. Something about knowing that you have a car that is capable of 200,000 miles and more. Ford doesnt have as good of a record when it comes to high mileage.

I work at the local ford dealer here in MD. We have seen little to no trouble with the Fusions at all.

Not a bad decision. Bauerdude who told you that? Fusion, Milan and MKZ (Zephyr) assembled in MEXICO only 50% US part content at BEST. No one in the USA makes money on these cars except the shareholders and upper management.

yup. u contributed to the american economy instead of funding the japanese. The first guy needs to realize that the fusion and the focus arent the same cars. Ford rules that is that.

Assuming that this is not simply a "bait" question, this is sure to bring up a lot of responses. Focus is the most recalled car in American history according to the consumer gurus and the govt. I doubt you did yourself a big favor trading off for the Focus, but your results may vary! :-)

Did you fall and bump you head or something? You went from a SUV to a car? I do understand about the gas prices, insurance, and the price of upkeep but...............Think about this:
SUV- where you can see the traffic around you.
CAR-where you can't till it hits you.
Toyota's run forever, Fords don't.
Good Luck
