I am currently attracted to this 23 year old woman (I am 39). We have gone out a few times, and get along realy well when we are alone. However, I am afraid she is worrying about what others think. Are women that age attracted to older men (even ones that are 15 years older)? . . . Or have I turned into a dirty old man?

I have always dated older men. When I was 23 I dated someone that was 41. I like dating older men because they are more mature(well not always but most of the time) and experienced...you know what im talking about...wink wink. She probably feels uncomfortable because I think when people see a young woman with a man that is much older than her they feel that maybe shes with him for his money which happens but not all women are gold diggers. 39 is really not that old. At least you are honest about your age. I hate when guys lie about their age. I had a friend that told me that he was 28 when he was really 32...how stupid and immature is that?! You just need to talk to her and ask her why she is so concerned about what others think. She is a grown woman but if she can't handle being with you then maybe you should just move on.

I'm 21 years old, and for whatever reason, I've always been attracted to older men. In fact, the oldest one was 19 years older than me!

It seems that it would be easier to have a friendship and a flirtation than having a full out relationship. It's a big age difference, even if you both are attracted to each other. Also keep in mind that you both might have different things in mind. You may be looking for a serious relationship, whereas she's looking for someone to take her out and show her a good time, until someone closer to her age comes around.

If you can both get past what others think, then great, but she's still pretty young and it might feel awkward to her. If you can keep the friendship alive then maybe it will slowly blossom into a romantic relationship. Just give her room to breathe and grow and don't make her feel like you're clinging to her, and don't make her feel like she's dating her father!!

It isn't wrong for a younger girl to be attracted to an older man. It happens all the time. My sister is 28 and is with a 55 year old man. The problem is his marriage. You do not want to go there no matter how old he is. You are just asking for pain and trouble if you do. Not to mention, that would be so wrong to do to the wife. As long as the wife is around, do not act on any of your feelings. It is okay to have a secret crush, but nothing more. If the marriage ends, go for it. But not until then.

Haha, something similar happened to me. I would be the younger woman. You're not a dirty old man! However, she may be wondering what other people are thinking when you go out. Some people don't care, and shouldn't. If she's attracted to you and enjoys your company, she shouldn't worry about what other people think.
And I know PLENTY of younger women who are attracted to older-ish men. 15 years isn't so bad.

i have an uncle whos 18 years older than my aunt.so it really depends on the person.if she feels strange about doing it then dont push her.maybe talk to her about it and hear her feelings on the issue.im glad you picked someone whos over legal age though because theres alot of guys your age that prey on childer under 18.if shes just not dating you because she wasnt wanna be seen with an older man you prolly should let her go.no use in getting a broken heart
