I felt that way about some girlfriends I had in high school, but in time the relationships that I thought could never end, did end. It seems so impossible when a relationship is going well like that, that it could ever end, but it happens all the time, and takes you by surprise. That said, I have known people who did make it through many years after high school, so it does happen successfully sometimes. I would say that more often than not, high school relationships do not remain long term, but there are always exceptions, and you may be one of them. Best of luck!

Last year I married my high school sweetheart. We did date off and on for 12 years but we also had a lot of growing up to do. During our off periods we were able to mature and find our independence which I feel is important in a relationship. It was hard a times being apart but we eventually realized how much we loved each other. Good luck!

Hi,
I was with my high school sweetheart from 1990-2002. We got married in 1995 and we had 3 children (one before we got married).
People change overtime and thats why Im not with him anymore...
How old are you both? And youve only been together for 16mths.
I was in grade 9 when I met my ex hubby(high school sweetheart) and I thought the same thing that we'd be together forever etc etc but it doesnt always work out that way....just be careful and don't make a mistake ok

Yes, it does happen i know a few from my high school that are still merried to this day, but then again things do change among people only in time. and especially when they turn 21 and can go out and have fun and meet other people, becasue remember your only with that one person forever and who's to say someone down the road won't come around and spark your interest. Long marriages is a dying thing no a days, no one stays together forever, only a select few really do. Good Luck!

i imagine it relies upon on the couple and their relationship. It occurs. My aunt and uncle were jointly because they were in eighth grade. they're of their mid 50's and function an fairly solid marriage. 2 of my bestfriends from highschool were given jointly at the same time as he change into 16 and she 17 and function been jointly ever because, they actually have an fairly solid relationship and that i believe that area of there success is the actual undeniable actuality that they are the in straight forward words human beings both has slept with. It also sounds like everytime i turn round i stumble upon yet another couple that were jointly in intense college yet had damaged up and are literally decrease back jointly after no longer having considered one yet another for 6 or 7 years... a number of those couples have even gotten married lately. i imagine that is puzzling, exceedingly on the instantaneous, for a pair so youthful to carry close precisely what it really is they prefer and stick jointly, yet i have considered it ensue and picture that is magnificent at the same time as it does. sturdy success. yet do not get your hopes too intense, maximum highschool relationships nonetheless fade or are damaged up through going away to school or looking for diverse paths after highschool or purely through the everday temptations of somebody else in shool. the actual area is that you want that human being with all of your power and attempt to make it artwork, if it doesn't, area approaches amicably because i guarentee you'll continuously imagine about your previous love and also you want to save in thoughts it as something particular no longer something gruesome.

Some highschool sweethearts couples go on to be married and last a lifetime. Most don't. People tend to grow apart as they grow older.
