Enter in to some general conversation. Be polite and a gentleman. Try to identify what the two of you may have in common.
Then, with a deep breath...smiles....ask her to join you for lunch.
Lunch is very safe. It is not really a Date..more like having Lunch.
We all have to eat.
Should she not accept, no real feelings are hurt...and you save face.
Hint: By the time you have approached her, she has already made some observations about you. Women are very observant.

Definetly make eye contact a few times and make sure she is looking your way, then go up to her and say casually, "Hey, how are you?". I mean if you see this girl everyday, just talk to her a little everyday, until soon your flirting for fun and making jokes back and forth, then ask her out! Good Luck!

Be honest and tell her that you like her. Ask her to go out for a cup of coffee or public place for a date such as a local event (fair, book club, etc.) but probably not a bar.
