Eww, she picks her nose at work?
Keep your sense of humor - I love that you call her a hoot - because if you get angry, it makes a looooong work day. I am speaking from experience trust me. Once you totally dissociate from any contact, you might start to be isolated and seen as the one with the problem. I dissociated myself from someone who was underneath me, and always trying to boss me around and steal my ideas and credit for my work. In the end, I was the one who suffered for it. I wish I had had your attitude, and just called her "a hoot". I ended up quitting over the tension.
My mom used to say, there's gonna be one in every office, so you've just gotta buck up. I used to roll my eyes, but sadly, it has turned out to be true.
Good luck. Maybe get her a box of Kleenex to keep on her desk too. YUCK

Most people do; or ARE the irritating co-worker! My irritant is a man who gossips more than any old lady I've ever met.
If you want the employees to know something just make sure he knows & the word will be out before an e-mail can make its way through the building.
If you have a problem....he ALWAYS has the solution even if you don't ask him for advice.
He has a special skill...he can talk for 30 minutes and say nothing at all.
He walks around all day in just his socks...it didn't bother me much until I saw a bottle of athlete's foot powder on his desk. YUK!

YES I DO! But I think at some point or another we have all experienced an irritating co-worker. The one that I have to deal with now is a know-it-all. She not only bothers me but everyone else including my boss......we'll see how long she is with us!

I feel your pain! I share a cubicle space with a woman who sets a kitchen timer to go off every 15 minutes....not sure why. Maybe to remind her she's at work, since she can't seem to get anything done. Oh! And she adds an "s" on the end of everything! WalmartS mineS.....drives me insaneS!

YES. I think everyone that has ever had a job has had at least 1 person at every job they have worked at that is irritating. There is a lady at my job that is so slow I want t run into her and knock her down because she keeps getting in my way.

I do. She drives me crazy to the point I can't even stand to be around her. I have found though that you are going to find people you can't stand no matter where you work. I guess it is just part of life learning how to deal with these morons.

If you like your job and neither of you are going anywhere - you just have to learn to ignore her. Be social when you have to, like at office gatherings - you have to work with her but you don't have to like her or be friends with her outside the work place.
