I started a tanning package recently and after a few weeks my face has developed blotchy areas that keep getting more noticable after I go tanning. Is tanning the cause of the blotchy patches? The patchy areas are not as oily as the rest of my face either. I have signed an agreement with the tanning place and now I don;'t want to go because the tanning is making it worse! Do you think the tanning place will understand and let me break the agreement because I don't want to go anymore since my face keeps getting blotchier!! :-( What is going on with my face?

Go see a dermatologist.

Tanning is a process of basically damaging the skin to make it turn a different color. You might have some patches of irregular skin cells that aren't acting the same way as the other cells. It's not going to get any better by continuing to tan- and any dermatologist is going to tell you tanning is bad period. Good luck with the tanning place. I'm not familiar with their policies, but if you've already paid money up front I wouldn't expect to get a refund?
