Of course, they co-exist. Who do you think invented science? God, of course.
(Brace yourself for a lot of flak from those who say I'm an ignoramus, but I suspect most of that will come from people who haven't studied all that much science).

No, according to science, to have a theory, and to have it accepted by the scientific community, you need a lot of evidence to support it... theories are not just "hey I think this... go ahead and try to disprove it!" They are required to have some serious back-up that is peer reviewed and put to the test. Disputing theories or evidence supporting them is welcomed if it can help glean more understanding. Science and God can co-exist, as I don't dispute either. But not if you're going to throw out theories or evidence because it doesn't support your understanding of God. That's one-sided and not being true to the science part of the balance. I balance them by personally admitting that yes, I believe there is a Higher Power, but if science provides evidence for something, I'm willing to concede that some holy book written centuries or millenia ago, or some ancient practice, might be wrong about it. That doesn't mean the Higher Power doesn't exist, it just means that the people who wrote the book or practiced the religion, with limited understanding of the physical world, must have had a misconception about it. Science can never prove the non-existance of something, it can only dispute evidence held up to support the existance. Science may prove there is a God someday, who knows.

I believe that God and Science DO indeed co-exsist, but not in the way you have explained. This planet and the solar system and countless other planets and glaaxies, were all created by God. THey were set up so that everything works together so perfectly- look at photosynthises for example- Trees need oxygen to live, but the trees also give off oxygen. That cannot just be a coinsedence. I belive that God created this world, in the same manner that other worlds had been created. That if any scietnist keeps that in mind, then it will help to find the answers they are looking for. But science can also help us to understand how the world works and how it was created.

Maybe I am just babling, but I am have a hard toime putting this into words and summarizing what I think.

Science is not a religion. Science is fact-based . All theories are based on provable facts. Religion, on the other hand is a mechanism of social control whose "facts" are based on hearsay and blind belief because "it is written..."

Religions are numerous and often contradict eachother, sometimes contradicting themselves. Science, on the other hand, even if sometimes contradictory, strives for truth, not one-upmanship,

And which god do you ask about? there are and have been thousand of gods since the beginning of civilization.

And concerning the concept of time, The Jews presented the idea of linear time when they described existence as starting at creation and going to the end of days. Science, as some of us know, are still discovering facts about the space-time coninuum which is quite different from the common concept of linear time.

Quote from Bible:

2Peter 3:8 But, beloved, let not this one thing be hidden from you, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.

So, I don't think that God's concept of time is similar than ours.
God is above our wisdom, we can't really understand whole of His concept.
Simply because God is so almighty and have unlimited power and wisdom. But we're still a limited human beings.

I can't say that he didn't use evolution in the seven days.
But all I know is: we're unique, and we're created according to God's image. And most importantly God loves us by sacrificing His Son in the cross to give us eternal live, who believe in Him (Jesus).

YES...

Well the Bible talk about a day being like a thousand years and a thousand years like a day to God. Seeing as God exists outside of time (else he would subject to his creation).

Well the Bible say that God create stuff "ex nihlo" - out of nothing.
oh and evolution is a theory as much as anything. Hence the reason it is call the THEORY of evolution.

Oh goody, the "seven days isn't literally seven days" argument.

So, did Noah *literally* put two of every animal on the ark as well, or was that just a figure of speech? Did Adam and Eve *literally* talk to a talking snake, or was that metaphorical?

Slippery slope, my friend.

Science has no comment on god; god is excluded by definition:

Science: system of acquiring knowledge based on empiricism, experimentation, and methodological naturalism, as well as to the organized body of knowledge humans have gained by such research.

Naturalism: the view of the world that takes account only of natural elements and forces, excluding the supernatural or spiritual.
---

What's so hard about this?

If you want to believe in god, fine. Just don't try and drag science into the mud pit with you.

They do co-exist! The general rules are made by God and called 'science'. The 'exception(s) to the rules' are made by God through our prayers.
May you receive a pleasant surprise today, Glory to God.
Peace Be With You.

In the good old days, scientists were acused of witchcraft by religious courts. Quite a few were burned and many had to publicly refute their work. i.e Galileo who pretended that the Earth was not the center of the universe and that that Earth was orbiting the Sun. The Church told him to abandon such theories or burn...

God and science CAN co-exist. Stories about God written by men, and science...not necesarrily.

Genesis was written by MAN, edited by MAN, and chosen for inclusion into the bible by MAN. And it doesn't match science (parts don't even match itself...there are TWO Genesis stories in the bible). So, either the story is wrong, or science is.
