Slowly introduce him to your son. Stay with him, talk to him while he sees him, then let him hold him, then slowly in a few days your son will be able to be with his father alone. Good Luck and I am glad your husband got back to the USA safe.

It sounds like your husband feels that the only way for him to reconnect with his son is to be alone with him. The entire family has to learn how to co-live again. It's a major adjustment for everyone. Even though you love him, he's been gone for a while and you are used to getting by without him. If it were me, I would want to do everything possible to have as much family time as possible. All 3 of you together. Everyone is going to want to see him now that he is back, but you have to balance that with taking care of your immediate family first. The more your son sees the two of you interact positively the quicker he will warm up to dad. I've gone through this with my family and every time I was worried about how my child would react to daddy an how that reaction would make daddy feel. Every time things went smoothly. Best of Luck!

You sound like a wonderful mother! I think your husband should understand that it's something you just have to ease into. After a few days of you all spending time the baby will be a little more comfortable. Good luck!

but 'my' baby is going to scream? I think it should have been 'our' baby. Hard times and good times, but don't forget it's now the three of you. He sounds like he'll be great and just wants to get to know his child.
