I too suffer from anxiety and was panicked and shaking when I took my drivers test. I failed because of it. Although I was still terrified the second time, I passed. I hope you don't have to do it twice.

First, keep in mind, everyone is nervous when they take their driving test. Keep reminding yourself that you know what you are doing and you drive well, tell yourself that over and over from now until the test. Be confident in yourself and your ability. Just show them what you already know, that you are a good driver.
Taking anything beforehand is probably not the best idea, you want to be able to focus on what you are doing and anti-anxiety medication could make you feel kind of fuzzy and might effect your reaction time.
Here in the US there is an herbal tea made by Celestial Seasonings called Tension Tamer. It has chamomile, vitamin B, and several other gently calming ingredients. I don't know if you can get your hands on it in England, but if so, it's worth a try. Otherwise, maybe try plain chamomile tea.
Also, practice deep breathing. Inhale to the count of 6, hold for 4, exhale slowly for 8. Most people don't realize how important the exhale is. There are a couple of benefits to deep breathing. One, it instantly refocuses you and calms. Secondly, it sort of tricks your brain into thinking it's calmer, which causes physiological changes in your body, which reenforces the message that you are calmer.
Good luck on your test! You are going to do fine. I was soooo nervous when I took mine, especially when the three people ahead of me failed! But I was determined to get my license. When I was parallel parking, I hit the curb, but I turned to the instructor and said "Wait, can I do this again, I CAN do this". He let me, I did it perfectly and I got my license.

Drink some herbal tea and take some deep breaths before the test.The last thing you want to do is take drugs that could possibly make you drowsy.

I have read some litterature about panic attacks. But they allways seem to have a more scientific approach and that is nothing I need in my struggle to survive those horrible panic attacks. This is a "hand on" and very practical book. I felt it was written to me. I am sure that you are going to feel the same.
Joe Barry writes exactly how I think. The examples are perfectly described. And the method is genius. I recommend this book and thanks Joe Barry for writing it. It changes your life

try to think if the person doing the test asa distant cousin who you have just picked up, you do not know him but he is harmless just like your instructor and parents,taking something is not a good idea, You can do this you just have to believe in your self, and as well you have been told you are good, so what is the sense in worring you only get upset

Valerian Root or even tea. They usually have calming or tension tamer teas right at the grocery store. This stuff actually works without drugging you up. You could even try Chamomile...
