Its a little thing called sin. Each person has first marred by original sin, a condition pasted down from the first man Adam in which their spirit is no longer able to have a full relationship with God. And secondly by their own sin. How many lies does it take to make one a liar?

The good news is that there is a cure for both kinds of sin. Through acknowledging the Lordship of Jesus over your life, and believing that he rose from the dead, you can receive a new, reborn spirit that is capable of fellowship with God. Through it, you can grow day by day into the perfection that God has for each person. He also forgives your past sins, and cleanses you so that you can walk free from sin in the future.

Add to that the indwelling of God's Holy Spirit , who is all-knowing, all-powerful, and ever-present, aiding you whenever you need it, and that is close to perfect as you will ever be able to get.

Q~ If God made man after God's own image, why are humans imperfect while God is perfect?

A~ Because Adam sinned in Genesis. Remember? Which caused man to fall and that's why we're born with sin.

Sin doesn't make sense as an answer. If God made man in his own image and god is perfect, humans would be incapable of sin. The flaw must lie in the original plans... god must be an imperfect sinner as well.

In the beginning God man--who was made in the image of God--was perfect. But, sin tarnished, grossly deformed that perfection. So, mankind is no longer perfect.

God did make humans perfect, BUT, he also gave us free will, Eve defied God and now we are all born as sinners because of it.
We all pay the price for that because Adam chose to bite the forbidden fruit because Eve told him to so we all are sinners.
Simply put but it is much deeper if you read the Bible.

Sin, the fall of Adam and Eve. Look at Genesis chapter 1 and 2 and read it carefully.

Sin has changed everything- and every one born into this world since then has been born with a sinful nature- that is why everyone needs a Savior- Jesus Christ is the only Savior!

Because of original sin. We were initially designed to be perfect, just like God. Because Adam & Eve committed that first sin, none of us can be perfect.

One wonders ...

I have always been amazed at (assuming that god created everything) what a rotten job he did of it. Adam and Eve hadn't even been in Eden very long before the whole plan fell apart. Then it crashed again and god had to flood the world.

Very strange ...
