Charles Rangel is a big liberal elitist who believes that amercians for the most part are too stupid to take care of themselves, or their children. Of course he wants to own the american people, and he will try to do this through entitlement programs, and conscription, all paid for by the shrinking middle class who pay most of the taxes. New York voters need to wake up and eliminate this social communist from our congress, before we all end up in "Camp".

Rangel has always been a joke, but his latest with the draft is beyond ridiculous. Fortunately most people do not take this man seriously. Nobody wants a draft. Liberals hate the military, they will not support it. Moderate Democrats have never supported the idea of a draft. Republicans have long espoused the virtues of an all volunteer military. Sum it up, it equals no support in any quarter. As to your question specifically, own is a wrong assumption, a more proper one would be control. Charlie Rangel thinks we are all stupid and misinformed therefore he believes we must be controlled and steered to the right decisions. Maybe if people in New York are paying attention this will finally be his last term in public office.

No, he's more a complete idiot than a slavemaster. He's too stupid to really understand what he's asking for.

Heck, 2 years ago he drafted a bill to reinstate the draft - and didn't even vote for it himself!

I think he is a joke, he makes the rounds on TV shows to get his ugly mug on the air. He is about as serious as a Kerry joke.
