If you use a small enough round brush, you can add some volume and a bit of a wave....you're not going to get as tight of curls as you can get from a curling iron. Using a metal round brush helps a bit because it heats up and helps the style keep longer. LOL...ok...and without a blowdryer...no way. It won't do anything...unless you help it there the whole time while your hair dried. You'd be better off using velcro rollers to add wave and volume. You have to let the hair completely dry before taking them out though, or you'll get fuzzy.

If you want the ends of your hair rounder, a round brush can help you achieve that with blow drying. This technique adds more volume to hair.
Oh, no blow dryer! Then a round brush's of no use. A paddle brush is a better idea.

It can help you flip your hair under or over while you blow dry the ends. Doesn't work for me personally because I have really thick hair.
