Yes, generally bulldogs are very patient with children. But all dogs are individuals and there's always going to be a few who aren't, but bulldogs are pretty laid back and get along well with children who know how to treat a dog.

Well, its mostly up to the owner to train the dog properly. A great point of reference is the Dog WHisperer which is on the Natl Geo channel-tonight as a matter of fact.
I grew up with Boston Terriers and both of my sisters and my mother have one and they sisters have kids around. They are snippy little dogs and I have been bit many times-cause we always picked on them growing up. They have a certain killer instict that is inbreed them. I had a hound dog that i adopted from the Humane Assc when my daughter was 5. He was way better than all the bulldogs. He died 5 years ago. I still miss him. Check out the pound for a dog that wont be inbred and needs ahome.

Normally bulldogs are very good with children, with bottomless supply of patience. The one thing that you have to look for is that because they tend to be big, they might knock the kid over or step all over them if you allow them to climb in the same bed as the children (dangerous if the kid is a baby).

As a general breed they are good with children but there is always that one that won't be so i would watch the dogs personality when you have a look at them.

I would think so. Just make sure the bulldog doesn't do anything weird. They are heavy for being as small as they are. They also slobber a lot.
