Personally, I hate the people who still follow Internet trends that are long since dead (such as "roftlolwtfbbq" and other random combinations that end in "wtfbbq"). 1337 speak also falls under this.
I don't laugh when someone puts "lol" because it's supposed to signify them laughing, not me.
Most of the time I put "lol" as a filler because I have no idea how the hell else to respond to whatever stupid thing they said (and being silent causes intense rage in many people online, for whatever reason).

I think all abbreviations except for the three actually useful ones ("BRB", "IMO", and "BTW") should be tossed out. You have a large keyboard in front of you people and hours to devote to doing nothing. You can type properly.

LOL is highly annoying I feel. Also LMAO if really annoying because how often does someone say something in which you sit at your computer and laugh like crazy. Also when people use smilies instead of words. That sucks.

From my experience...

Most overused abbreviation: 'u' instead of 'you.'
Most overused acronym: LOL.

Arguably the most used acronym on the internet could actually be "www" or "http" as we find them in most URLs. But that's probably not what you meant. :D

I in basic terms variety them in google and spot what it says. i understand the person-friendly ones, yet a number of them make me sense previous. i elect ones that categorical unhappiness. a lot of those I see look transformations of giggling.
