They generally do it by laproscopy now. I stayed for less than 24 hours after surgery and pain was very minimal. I was fine with just taking OTC medicines. Your stomach won't fall and it won't cause acid reflux. Healing after laproscopic surgery like that is only a couple of weeks but you will feel fine in just a couple of days. I had the laproscopic surgery vaginally assisted and it wasn't bad at all. I had a total hysterectomy.

I had a one about 14 years ago - the best thing I ever did. I kept my ovaries.

No, your stomach doesn't fall causing acid reflux. :)

The hospital stay was about 2-3 days, depending on which type of surgery you'd be having. (Note: This is based on my own experience 14 years ago.)

I took 8 weeks off of work, but went back at 7 weeks. My husband stayed home with me for the first day I got back, but he went back to work the next day.

i stayed only one night!! they tell you to take it easy for at least 6 weeks after surgery to heal properly. i went back to work at 4 weeks and was a lil sore the first day. i still have my ovaries (partial hysterectomy). you will be fine. if your ovaries aren't affected then leave them alone.

Well, it was good for me because my former boss had one and she was out for two months or longer. It was very peaceful at my job.
