I don't get it....well, I do, it was foretold after all. But why do people hate Christians so bad? I see people bashing us for all kinds of crazy reasons. They say we're not educated (I am), that we're hypocritical (you get bad apples in everything, that we condemn (obviously you haven't read the facts). It makes no sense that people should hate us (or fear us if you ask me). Our beliefs are good, pure and a desire for the most peaceful way of life (though impossible), so why hate it? Because it says you can't do what you want?? If you truly did not fear God, then why bash us so bad?? Why not say "Hey, that's cool...you believe that, I don't ...but I still like you anyways?" Answer me that.

It is truly amazing how many "non-believers" answer this without knowledge of anything. You base your thoughts on us by what society has claimed us to be and all of a sudden you think you are knowledgable and right in it. Until you know the TRUE meaning of what it is to be a Christian and what the beliefs are, you have no business answering something just because you are angry with the world.
Cheers.

You have a point, we shouldn't bash you but you are all pretty annoying. Most people can keep their beliefs personal and quiet but Christians want to share it with the world, all we do is retaliate. Eg someone asked a daft question about a Ghost and you lot quote from the Bible and denounced her as practicing some black art, you all seem to be obsessed by your cult and have to ram it down our throats.

"Until you know the TRUE meaning of what it is to be a Christian and what the beliefs are, you have no business answering something just because you are angry with the world."

Humor me, praytell. What exactly is a True Christian™? A Mormon, JW, Protestant, Methodist, Southern Baptist, Catholic, Presbyterian, Lutheran, Episcopal, etc.

I don't hate Christians... at least, I don't dislike most of them. I just dislike the ones that are the fanboys.

You have to look at the other side of the coin instead of whining about your persecution complex. Why do people hate nonbelievers and atheists so bad? We're educated, we're not hypocritical, our beliefs are good, pure, and a desire for the most peaceful way of life, so why hate it? Because we don't believe in your god? Because we don't share your faith? Because we are the manifestation of the sleeping giant of doubt lurking within you? Why not say, "Hey, that's cool, if you don't believe... I do, but I like you anyways"? Why does the Psalm of "The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God" always come out?

I was wondering about this, too, and it's something that bothers me, but I think it's because of stereotypes and things that have happened in the past. There are "Christians" that are really intolerant and hypocritical, so people get irritated with them - I do, too, because they make us all look bad. A lot of Christians, more old-fashioned ones, I think, believe other relgious beliefs are just wrong, and that's another issue, too. If you look in history, Christians have done really bad things....the Crusades, the Salem Witch Trials...and the list goes on. If we want people to stop hating us, we have to start doing what we preach. But also, there will always be people who are really down on Christianity, and that's ok...we can't do anything about it, and that's just how they feel. Just don't let it get to you.

Boz, expand your command of church history, and also understand that your little corner of Christendom is not representative of the whole. In fact, a strong argument against heaping abuse on all Christians is that all Christians do not remotely share the same doctrines, beliefs, practices and motivations, and many refuse to recognize the other sects and denominations as even being Christian because of these differences. The Branch Davidians, People's Temple (Jonestown) and various White Supremacist sects all claim(ed) to be Christians, but I suspect you would disagree.

My strong disagreements and opposition, not hate, is reserved for claims by revelatory religions that their traditions are god-breathed and infallible and supercede ethical considerations, and thus can be used to justify murder, war, slavery, conquest, pillage, all of which have storied histories among the Christian nations and churches. And my strong contempt is reserved for pretty much all televangelists, whose ranks are swollen with frauds, hypocrites, liars and thieves. But other than the fundamentalists, who have more in common with the Taliban than the NT Church, and whose hubris is exceeded only by their theological illiteracy, I don't have any conflict with Christians.

Maybe because they're Christians who think they are better than all other religions and you got Christians like the Catholics who are damning every non Christian to Hell and saying they're better than everyone else because "they worship Jesus" and say that every non believer should accept Jesus as their savior and always put all these bible verses in their posts saying that non believers will burn in Hell. It's the same with Muslims we are bashed because "we're terrorists out to kill everyone" when really we don't agree with the terrorists at all and yet people still see us that way and say we should all be locked up and killed. I'm Muslim by the way and just wish people would take the time to study Islam before they put up hateful insulting questions.

,It is a bible prophesy that the people of the world are fulfilling these days; We are Christians and Christ did not leave us blind, but his word is the light that lights our paths through life. Mathew 24:9 reads-"Then people will deliver you up to tribulation and will kill you, and you will be objects of hatred by all the nations on account of my name". Yes, when we choose to follow Christ Jesus, Satan and his demons along with human followers will try to cause us much harm, and they will hate us, just as the prophecy reads. But remember that God can and will destroy Satan and all who follow him, so we are going to win over our oppressors, and we will enjoy eternal life in perfect conditions, without this wicked system of things of which Satan is the ruler.-1 John 5:19 Revelation 12:9 Psalms 37:29.

You say: "Why not say "Hey, that's cool...you believe that, I don't ...but I still like you anyways?" Answer me that."

some of us do... and we're stil laccused of "hating Christians."

I don't... but I find the lack of respect for others that SOME Christians display to be quite disturbing. I also find it sad the need of some Christians to bash science. I also dislike some of the smugness and arrogance I observe.

But I don't hate, unless they are trying to use their religion to legislate their ways on the rest of us.

I'm an atheist, and I don't condemn christians at all. People should be allowed to follow whichever belief system they choose. The only people I do condemn are fundies, who use religion as an excuse for hatred and intolerance.

Try this test - post a question or answer that is even remotely non christian and see how long it is before you are violated!!!!!

The answer is simple Christians will tolerate no disssent from what they believe in!!

Where is the love of fellow man? Where is tolerance? Where is forgiveness? Where for goodness sake is rationality?

I don't hate any Christian. I see clericalism, religious institutions and dogma as being remnants of a bygone age. I just want rid of religion and hopefully humanity can then develop its full potential founded on reason rather than theology, misguided doctrines and fear.
