You can only tax it providing you have a valid mot certificate. So you can still tax it if you do it before Dec 14th. Your correct you can still tax it up untilthe renewal date. Check out the dvla website.

I thought the same thing, but you can use your MOT to get tax right up until the day before the MOT runs out.

You tax runs out on 30th November and you MOT is 14th December, yes you can tax your car as the MOT is valid until December 14th.

Heather you are correct in thinking that the date your MOT test runs out will be the 14 Dec:It is valid until this date be on the safe side get it done a few days in advance so if anythings wrong it can be brought up to the required standard.Regards Mick UK.

I know that you can renew an MOT a month early and get it tagged onto the current one, effectively giving you a 13 month MOT.
You can also get your tax a couple of weeks early.
