Battersea is a nice and quiet place, it is near the City, just over the river. Battersea is in travelcard zone 2. It has nice features such as Battersea Park, it is close to Clapham Junction where there are night time entertainment and excellent train connections (as Britain's busiest train station)

Battersea is Zone 2. I really like Battersea, though when I lived there a few years ago I thought there weren't too many great restaurants in Battersea, so I spent more time in Clapham or Chelsea (both of which are very close).

Battersea Park is beautiful and probably my favourite park in London. The area is clean and quiet. I never had any trouble at all when I lived there.

It is in Zone 2 and like everywhere else there is good and bad bits, I has a beautiful park and there are plans to turn the old power station into a shopping mall type thing but saying that there have been plans for the power station for over a decade and nothing has happened yet. Battersea is south of the river so don't think you will be able to get a cab to go there after midnight.

I have friends who used to stay and quite enjoy the life in Battersea. I also sometimes go to Battersea for some events such as Firework Display, Thai Festival, Battersea Beer Festival etc. They are great fun!

London SW11. On the other side of the river Thames to Chelsea. It used to be a right dump , but the yuppies in the 80s made it into a sought after area to live in. They even called it 'south Chelsea ! By the way, SW8 is Wandsworth.

Do not live South of the River -
it's a NO NO. Stay North of the River.
