Jinn are exclusive to Islam.
Quran 15:27 “And the Jinn race, We had created before, from the fire of a scorching wind.” http://www.usc.edu/dept/MSA/quran/015.qmt.html#015.027
Quran 17:88 "If the whole of mankind and Jinns were to gather together to produce the like of this Qur'an, they could not produce the like thereof, even if they backed up each other with help and support. http://www.usc.edu/dept/MSA/quran/017.qmt.html#017.088
The Quran essentially claims the Jinn are a race of creatures living on earth, right now. They are not invisible. So if the Quran were correct, which of course its not, some human, over the last 1400 years would have found some evidence of this entire Jinn civilization.

A "ghost" is basically an astral body that is severed from its physical body (for the physical body is no longer living matter). Jinn are essentially fire sprites; some are generally good, while others are mischievious.

technically ghosts are not conscious energy .. people mistake them for spirit which is conscious
spirit is the part of us that goes on after death ...
ghosts are just energy that remains on the atmosphere here until such time the energy is replaced by another
spirit can communicate .... ghosts cannot
i would let someone who knows more about jinn explain that to you though , i am not Muslim xx
