I hate them, too. They give me the heebeegeebees.
I cannot understand why. It may be for a legitimate reason, it may not be. They are great for heating up water when you are in a hurry, but I prefer the heat of the "natural" world ...
Or, as one old man said when asked about airplanes, "If God intended man to fly, He would not have invented railroads."

I love microwave cooking for the fast, safe and convenient method of cooking that it is and has nothing to do with radioactivity either. Microwaves are nothing but radio waves of a certain frequency that cook by exciting the water molecules in food causing heat generation and the cooking of the food.

Microwaves make me laugh... I don't know why though. I just hear them go whuuuuuur....PING and I crack up! Haha! But anyway I don't really like microwave food, I once got food poisoning from a microwave fish pie.
I'm not allowed any microwaved food (other then jacket potato) anymore because my nutritionist banned me from processed food!

Microwaves are good for heating things. So far as their being dangerous, a leaky seal might be dangerous. I use one a lot in cooking and don't see how the previous generation did without them.

never heard that before but it kind of sounds like an urban legend -- http://www.snopes.com/science/microwave/plants.asp
