Of course you can! If you are a US citizen or permanent resident, you can apply for financial aid.

If your parents were not required to file a tax return and thus did not file, it's not like FAFSA requires them to. You just mark on your FAFSA "will not file" on the question regarding a tax return. Then you must still provide information for any income earned from working, or untaxed income such as disability benefits.

Go to www.fafsa.ed.gov and apply right away if you plan on attending the Spring 2007 semester (Jan-May07) or the Summer 2007 semester. If you won't be starting till Aug07 (the 07-08 school year) then you must wait till after Jan 1, 2007 to complete the 07-08 FAFSA.

If you have any further questions, your best bet is to contact your school's Financial Aid Office. The people there are trained to answer your financial aid questions.

Of course you can. Go to your school's financial aid office and sit down and talk with some one there. I don't know what state you live in, but most offer grants that you should be eligible for. I really wouldn't advise going down the path for a loan. They take for ever to pay off. I'm sure there are also several scholarships you may be eligible for too.

Also you might want to contact the Disabled Veteran's group in your town. They may be able to advise you on what grants to apply for and may have one that they offer to veteran dependents.

Good Luck!

Yes you can apply for fafsa, cuz neither one of my parents file taxes and i still got financial aid. My advice is to sit down with a counselor and they will help with your fafsa.

Everyone can apply for the FAFSA if you are an American citizen. Apply on Jan. 1 to get the best aid. Look online at the website below. If you have questions, call your financial aid office.

Yes, you still fill out the FAFSA Under the comments you explain the situation and the lack of filing for taxes. You may want to substitute proof of his disability and the federal forms for that.

First, if your friend is 26, she is independent and won't need her parent's data to file the FAFSA. Second, it doesn't matter who claims/doesn't claim a student. If they are under 24, they must file with their parents. Last, if she is getting married soon, she should wait until after she is married to file the FAFSA if she doesn't want to use her mom's information. If she already filed and is under 24, married or no, she will need her parent's information. Your friend needs to contact the school's financial aid office.

For college financial aid you do have to file for fafsa, and the income that the parents have goes under the untaxable income. your EFC should be ZERO
