I'll be traveling East on the 101 and want to get on the 405 South. Mapquest doesn't show an on-ramp there. Anyone know if there is an entrance ramp there?

Routes ending in an odd number are north/south, evens are east/west. Check that map again and you will see the 101 breaks that rule and there is an interchange from it to the 405 which doesn't break the rule.

Sure you can get to the 405 South from the 101. Just follow the signs to the San Diego Freeway/Santa Monica.

Stay to the right two lanes as you get close to the 405 and follow the signs to Santa monica or Los Angeles

You might try the old conventional way and get a map.
