How about an annual subscription to something he really likes, ie: monthly magazine, favourite art gallery, depends where you live because there are loads of great places in London to sign up for a year; depends what he is into - if he likes animals or birds you can pay for a year's care and have his name put on the cage (seriously I recently did this for a friend of mine who is very kind and caring); of course if he is short of cash maybe money or vouchers,

I dont know I do know that shopping for guys sucks stick to a gift card to a store he likes or just the mall rather...

If he has an ipod I would consider giving him an itunes gift card. If he has a car I would give him a gift certificate to a car detailer.

I used to get my brother stuff like packs of cards or a playtoy of his favorite superhero. He was into marvel and stuff like that so that was what I'd get him.
For your brother figure out what he likes, games or whatever, and then either draw him a picture or if you have the money go out and buy him a game or something. Or go into the toy section and see if they have a toy-version of him/her.

It depends on what he is into. My brother likes wolves, so I usually get him something wolf related. Like a wolf calendar, or blanket. You get the idea.
