I am working on a project whereby I have to come up with a new technology to make my company more profitable. It is a video and entertainment company. This "company" rents and sells dvd's and video tapes, however we are branching out to also rent and sell gaming consoles and cartridges, as well as selling blank Cd's & DVD's. Project due on 2nd Dec.

Digital rights management, regional encoding, also you could come up with a strong encoded proprietary format which can't be played in a DVD player.

I'm guessing this is a project for school, because in real life you can't do this that quickly.

What you need to describe is that you have a proprietary encoding mechanism (meaning a secret way of scrambling the video) and you stream it off the server on your end, and the user gets special player software that they download first, and use that software to play the video.

In real life, there could still be a way to capture the played video, but for most purposes that's unlikely.

If I was designing this for the company (I'm a video software engineer) I might even consider tossing in some "identification" frames - one or two a second - that might look like a flash on the screen, if you noticed them at all - that said what user it was that was downloading it. It would so unobtrusive that it wouldn't bother your viewing experience, but if someone did capture the screen and make a DVD and you got one of them, you could trace it back to the user who did the original download and copied it.

confident you could burn DVDs, yet inorder to burn video clips, you may verify it somewhat is encoded interior the right MPEG format or encoding, that's needed on your DVD participant to be waiting to study it. in case you very own a replica you could in basic terms rip the ISO image from the DVD and burn it returned. If it somewhat is illeagle action picture downloading, then I have no area in this, yet while it somewhat is solid, which i will anticipate, then yah there are a brilliant style of encoding softwares to apply.
