It was a really bad accident, but the damage is more than $500. I had just canceled my insurance in october with intentions on getting another policy with another company, but OOPS. Anyways, the accident was the other drivers fault she T-boned me. After the accident I was a little shooken up and lost all my common sense, I obtained her name, phone#, and address but no insurance info. Where do I go from here? How bad did I screw up? The other driver says it was my fault, I know for a fact that I wasn't at fault, I also have a witness, who was at one of the other stops signs in the four way stop. What do I do? who should I call?

Just so everyone understands, a ticket is nothing to me so you best believe I didn't not call the cops because I was afraid. This place is a joke you'll are some mean people. I was thinking about my child whom was i the car, not the police, not the other driver, a ticket or my car getting impounded. Have some heart

Definitely should have called a police officer...otherwise it will be your word against the other driver's word. The police officer would have made a judgment as to who was at fault...your witness at that time would have been invaluable...good luck...

You can make a claim against the other person's insurance and they will investigate and determine if they will pay you. The problem here is if they don't, you don't have a carrier to help you out. So you're s.o.l and you'd have to sue. You didn't tell us what happened, so I'll take your word for it that it was the other person's fault. There are some claims examiners that usually answer who could tell you who's at fault if you'd provided that info.
There are states who are "no pay no play" so in those states if you're uninsured you can't collect at all. Let's just hope that didn't happen to you.
You got a lot of mean responses because people who hang out in this forum get real mad when people drive uninsured, and no one usually buys the reasons anyway. But that's the deal with your accident. Call the other person's insurance and tell them you want to make a claim and good luck! Also, try spell check, I have never heard of the word shooken.

You didn't call the cops because you 'lost your common sense'? Not to sound nasty but I just don't believe you. I think the real reason is because you don't have insurance and were afraid your car would be impounded and be slapped with a fine. No matter -- call the other person and beg them for their insurance info. If they are dumb enough to give it to you call the company and tell your story. Heck, even a blind hog finds an acorn once in awhile, maybe you will get lucky also.

Get a copy of the police report, which will have all that information on it. What? You don't have one? Oh well, then just contact your insurance company with the information you have and they can help you out. What? You don't have insurance? They why were you driving?
How bad did you screw up? Real bad. The other driver is going to say you pulled out in front of her, and that's why you got hit, and you can't prove otherwise. You will probably get a couple of tickets now, one for failure to carry insurance, and another for failure to stop at the stop sign.

You are going to have trouble. In some states, driving without insurance puts you automatically at fault. Good thing you got a witness, let's hope s/he will testify on your behalf. You screwed up by driving without insurance. If the other party refuse to give you insurance info you may have a hard time claiming anything.
If you're in CA I'd suggest file an SR-1. If they don't report their side their license may get suspended.

If there was disagreement on who was at fault you should have called the police. Since you didn't the only thing you can do now is to call her and ask for the insurance information. You probably need to talk to the police to see what can be done now.

It merely takes time, you will recover from it particularly is going to certainly. I totaled my automobile 2 years in the past and nonetheless right this moment I freak if i glance off the line and notice brake lighting fixtures furnishings whilst my eyes come decrease back to the line. Now you will in all hazard merely be an added careful driving force at intersections, no longer something incorrect with that! lol

You should have called the police last night so they could have made a judgment on who was wrong.
