There is alot of missing information in your question. Are you using a desktop or laptop? Regardless, you should have the correct computer cable. Most common cable used between projector and computer would be VGA to VGA cable. Turn your projector on first, then your computer and everything should work automatically. If it doesn't, then I am guessing you are using a laptop computer. Laptop computers typically need to use a FN+F key combination. You should have a F key with two monitors. i.e. Dell's use FN+F8. If you press this key combination, you will toggle through 3 modes. Projector-only, Laptop Only and Projector and Laptop. If I totally missed the mark, then give us more information.
