yes, absolutely! this is a tried and tested remedy!
Just put large chunks of raw potato into the dish and keep it on the flame... soon enough, the potato pieces will have absorbed the excess salty taste and your dish will taste fine!

Can you help us out here - what kind of dish is it? The best way is to add plain yoghurt or Creme Freshe (if it's a curry-type dish) or indeed sugar to compensate for the saltiness. This is of course reliant on the fact that you didn't put a whole bag in?! Good luck!

Depends on what it is. If I am making soup or stew I add a peeled whole potato if it is too salty and before you serve it remove the potato. It really does help. if it is something like veggie dill dip I had a bit of sugar and that, too, helps.

Add a potato to it and remove when you have finished cooking - this will soak up some of the salt. If you can, try to dilute the dish with water and add extra veg.

It dependes on the kind of food. If it can be washed, do it. If you're cooking meat, just wash it. It it's a sauce, throw a part of it away and add more water.

the other option is to increase the volume of the dish but that would only work if it was casserole or soup or at least something that you can mix around. the volume would therefore lessen the amount of salt per bite if you get my drift. hope you sort it! ;) ( in case i'm not being clear by volume i mean make more of it!)

I prefer both fruits and fresh vegetables better, however they look and taste. You desire a little of both.

In the event it's a fruit they have seeds, otherwise it's a vegetable. And vegetables are usually grown in the ground while fruits are grown in trees.

Slice raw potatoes and put the slices on top of the dish and keep it simmering. The potatoes extract some of the salt away.
