Most likely not. Most dogs become lazy & lethargic because the owners don't exercise them enough and overfeed them. It's not the neutering. Read the link below for more information. : )

No it won't make your dog lazy. It will keep him from wandering and make him less aggressive. That's good. We have a male golden retriever and never had him neutered. He wanders and soon as we let him out the door. He's much more aggresive than our female golden, who was neutered at 6 months. She' a real great dog. You can leave her on the front door step and she stays there. Very obedient also where the other one has a mind of his own. Get it done for your sake and your dog's!

The only thing that neutering him will do is make him a happier dog and you a happier owner. Dogs put on weight because they are overfed. As Larry the Cable Guy says " Get 'er done." The reason you said is all it will do to him.
Good luck.

I would call and vet and explain to them what you mean by sex...Dogs go on heat every 6 months for 2 or so weeks and this is the only time the female will let another dog mount her.Did the dogs lock? (Bums get stuck to eachother) If so, then she could be pregnant which lasts from 57-63 days. Bad mistake letting that happen though. You should get her fixed to avoid any unwanted litters, especially with a stray

It doesn't change things. I wish it had calmed a couple of mine down!! Its more the testosterone and being territorial males that it helps.
He is no longer a puppy at 8 months get him neutered.

Won't cause any negative side affects to the dogs behavior. Will keep him home more and I am surprised he isnt gone already. They usually start looking for females at 6 mos.

we neutered our german shepard. At first he was a little lethargic and groggy, but in a week or two he was back to himself. He just gained more weight.
