My hair comes out dry and never wants to listen to me after every time I wash my hair. but after a day or two, the natural oils kick in, n my hair is like a godsend. I dont prespire alot so my hair is clean and doesn't really need to be washed that often, but it gets itchy because I haven't washed it in a while. it gets so itchy if you think so much it drives you crazy to a point where you just wash it lol.

So anyways... I have two questions really.
1. Is there a substitute for natural oil that your head/hair secretes?
2. Is there a way to keep my head from getting itchy without washing out the natural oils?

you can wash your hair with conditioner instead of shampoo, so it will alteast get some of the dirt out without washing away the oils. They say you shouldn't wash your hair everyday anyways, but I only wash my hair every 5 days, and my scalp does not itch. You could have some kid of fungus or something thats making you itch. ask your doctor.

You can try a itchy scalp oil, usually it's in the ethnic hair products section. Or use a dry scalp shampoo and then use a good conditioner.

I know of a few products that are created to help that itchy dry scalp. Aveda makes a few different oils called "compositions". They are meant to moisturize you scalp and skin. My favorite and the richest of the compositions is their "beautifying" option. Put a few drops in your hand and masage it into your scalp before bed. It'll moisturize your scalp. Most likely the itching is coming from being dry. Plus the product is an oil...I've never tried wearing my hair with the oil in it, but I guess it's worth a try in your case. It'll definitely moisturize and help with the itching though!

1. as long as possible wash your hair daily. without any soap / shampoo / vineger / conditioner. only with luke warm water, but do not forget to massage your scalp when washing.

2. apply bitten egg yoke to your scalp. every week day and wash with mild shampoo or may be baby shampoo. and do not dry with hair drier. apply few drops of hair oil.

this may solve your problem.

I have the same problem, but I also have a lot of dandruff. Try getting a shampoo that affects dandruff/fungus, beause even if there is no dandruff visible, it is possible that you have something similar. try this and it usually helps. and the great thing is, that with some shampoos for dandruff and other things, you only need to use them once a week. Good Luck

I read somewhere in a magazine that hair should be rinsed with a mixture of water and mouthwash to kill the bacteria that cause itchiness, and for the dryness, i think u should use hair serum after washing.

my first cure: warm oil and it won't be as dry anymore
my next cure: vinegar smells awful and burns the face but it gets rid of hidden dandruff.
