This Jay girl doesn't know what she's talking about.
Bleaching and coloring your hair does not effect your hair follicles. A reminder, your hair follicles are BELOW the skin. Hair follicles are tiny pockets that encase the hair root. So putting products on your hair to altar the color will not effect anything below the skins surface.

Any chemical/product can block your hair follicle causing the follice unable to produce as many hair strands e.g your hair can become thinner. But there is good news, use the Nioxin range that specialize in scalp treatments and that will clear any blockages!
