Your BMI is normal. You do not have to lose weight. You can actually join the first day to get all the necessary materials you need and then don't go to the meetings and definitely do this on your own. Let me stress thought that you are at a Healthy weight and should not worry about the Freshman five. However, if it is still unsettling to you, weight watchers has two plans: Points system and Core Plan. You will need to obtain the booklet and the sliding chart to determine the points..then you will need to buy it so first time initiation is about $30. However, if you Keep your calorie count to about 1500 calories and exercise and burn off 500 calories. You will definitely lose it quickly. It is just a small amount so do this gradually. Remember: it takes 3500 calories to gain a pound or 3500 calories burned to lose a pound. Go to fitnessmagazine.com and determine how much you need to maintain your weight and go from there. Good luck and don't be to Hard on yourself!

The points system works by calculating a total point value of a given food or meal. You have a certain number of points to eat each day, and as you eat foods, you subtract the points you've eaten. It is not adviseable to go below the recommended point level, as it can cause your body to go into starvation mode. I can't give you the formula for the points program, as that's against the law, it's proprietary to Weight Watchers and could get you and I in legal trouble. The points are calculated based on calories, fat, and fiber in an item.

You don't need Weight Watchers! The only weight watcher should be you and you should be watching the numbers on your scales. If they increase cut back on your food intake. Good luck.

And even gaining the 5 lbs. you are just now a good weight. You do not need to lose anything and if you really think you do, then you have bigger problems......an eating disorder.

Here's a chart. http://www.healthchecksystems.com/heightweightchart.htm
