DUDE! british chicks have the most beautiful accents, some times im gealous of you brits , but then i start to think about a cute girl with a southern accent and it makes me feel lots better

Can't really generalize what Americans like, because we are all oh so different. but mostly YES. British girls have really hot accents (when the girl is hot too).
I had this British friend called James. and I gave his MSN to some girls at school, and they were obssesed with his accent. they would call him long distance just to hear him talk, and say POTA-OH.
then of course theres ALI G, who has made his way into a lot of Americans' hearts with his humor and british accent.

Most American women find the British accent to be very sexy...why? Well, like the expression of someone being 'easy on the eyes' or 'eye-candy'.....most british accents seem to have that same effect!
Or, as I think I saw posted...it's the 'James Bond' factor which makes most females swoon!

personally I think Scottish and German accents are the best since they are different from anything else. but, the British accent is especially amiable in America because its so different than what we have here- an accent can make an average-looking person attractive the moment they speak, and, if someone continues to talk to you about nothing, it's because they like the way you speak ;)

I'm not American but I find it interesting that you imply that there is one British accent. There are dozens and dozens of wonderful British accents - have a look at 'The English Language' by David Crystal.

Speaking as an American that has lived in the UK for 13 years,the answer is an uneqivocable YES!!! Some regional accents are much nicer than others-but all in all,to us Americans.the British accent is very romantic sounding with old world charm! (When spoken correctly,that is!)

The British accent reminds most people of Bond 007 which is a symbol of adventure and sexyness too. It can't be helped that the accent then turns many women on.

When it isn't over-pronounced, I find it enjoyable to listen to, but many American actors, when trying to adopt a British accent, overemphasize it and it ends up sounding like fingernails on a chalkboard. I find it most enjoyable when it is used naturally, without sounding forced. I do NOT like the "Cockney" accent used in "Mary Poppins." I wince every time I hear it.

I like the Scotish and upper class British accents. The reason why is they sound educated. They seem to talk in a clam voice. My friend is from Norway, nice accent
