This guy named Jon Feilder is selling a cute little bulldog saying he only wants $200 for shipping and handling. and only $100 of it goes to him the other 100 goes to an orphanage in africa... this is the email he sent me......we are giving jenny and windy out inorder to help raise funds for an orphanage in a small african country. we leave in canada and our pups are as beautiful as you see them on the pictures. there is no adoption fee charged. all we want is for someone who is willing to pay for their flight to show up and they are all he's. we will be charging $200 for shipping and this money will be paid to us only in one instalment. $100 will be sent to us and the remaining $100 will be sent directly to the orphanage....Do you think this is a scam? how can i have him prove that its not? He said he must get the money first be4 he'll send it out because of past things that have happened ... where he has not gotten his money... any ideas?? any help Thanks!! Jessica

Any deal that asks for wired money or money wired to Africa is a SCAM. Besides, bulldogs DO NOT ship well..There are many reports of them dieing during shipping because of their impaired breathing at high altitude.. If this person was actually raising money for an orphanage, he would be selling them for the regular price of about $1,000 or more.

In my experience of buying a puppy I noticed everyone out of the country getting rid of a dog for insanley cheap was legit. If they ask you to pay with western union or wire money then you know there definitley a scam. I would look around locally. I got my maltese from Oklahoma (I live in FL) and when he was sent here via airplane he got really sick. I spent $600.00 at the vet the next day. So either way if you buy the dog for cheap, you will have to pay $$ becuase most of the time something is wrong. Check your local shelter. You can put your name on a list for a purebreed.. make take a while If your willing to wait.

Don't ever buy a puppy from someone you dont know. Does it even have its shots? Is it sick? I highly doubt even if you did recieve a puppy that ANY money would go to and orphanage. I dont know the laws that well but I have traveled out of the country before and there was a search on everyone crossing the border, you couldnt even take fruit across, so i highly doubt sending a dog would be so easy.

Of course it's a scam. Aside from the fact that you can't really get *any* kind of bulldog, other than a rescue, for $200 and that you shouldn't be shipping dogs in from a foreign country (or state) unless you know and trust the breeder. Please read the link below on how to shop for a dog. Responding to random breeders over the Internet is certainly not the way to get one.

Remember Jessica - you don't get something for nothing. And this is a whole lot of something for virtually nothing. Please educate yourself to Internet scams and how to buy a dog. And, you may want to forward this e-mail to the FBI as they investigate Internet Scams. You may even want to drop the bulldog national breed clubs for both the US & Canada a line to let them know of this scam. They may post something on their website to prevent other from falling victim.

Never buy a dog unseen!!!!!!!!! Sounds like a scam to me! A Bulldog for $200.00? If that were the case he would have people waiting in line. Why would he have to sell it in America? Yeah, the Canadians are going to save the Africans by selling $200.00 dollar Bulldogs????? I'm going to start selling 10 cent. Toy-Teacup-miniature Great Danes next week......Anyone interested??? The proceeds go to the old folks home in Russia.

I think it is a scam. I would not do buisness with someone over the internet over somehthing as important as a new puppy. Besides, how did this person send you an email? If you emailed first, go to the posting site where you got his email and do some investigating. It doesn't sound real. Goodluck.

Most likely a scam.

Just out of curiosity, offer to fly up there and pay cash for the puppy. Cost of dog, flight, and car rental will still be well under 1K. If not a scam, he should welcome it. Most likely, he'll act insulted or make up some other excuse.

Be careful.

Sounds like a scam to me. Bulldogs don't go for that cheap unless from a rescue. My friend paid over 1000 for hers.

I would pass on this as it's likely you're going to lose out in the end.

Same answer as the rest. SCAM ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! I'd be tempted to play along and see what he says. Tell him you provide an airline ticket for the pet and send the money directly to the charity of his choice. My bet is that it will be a no go.
