it depends where on your arm and how big you want it. do you HAVE to get it on your arm? why not on your ribcage or on your back or on your leg. arms are always harder to hide, especially if you live in a warmer climate.

I would try to talk you out of getting this tattoo. In most jobs, you'll need to deal with the public, and tattoos usually give a negative first impression (even if the tattoo is to remember someone who has died).

Give this a lot of thought, then wait and see if you still feel the same in 6 months or even a year. This is something you'll need to have on your body for the rest of your life, so you don't want to make the decision right away. If you decide you have to get this tattoo, don't get it somewhere really noticeable. Get it on your shoulder or somewhere more private instead.

Rather than getting a tattoo to remember your friend or family member, maybe you could get a photograph of her enlarged, then have the RIP, birth date, date of death, etc. written on the bottom of the photo. You could then have it framed. I'm sure a framing store can help you. You can then have a memory of your friend/family member hanging up in your house for everyone to see, but it won't be imbedded in your skin to potentially cause problems or regret.

You know I used to want to get a tattoo when I was younger. I really thought a rose would be awesome. My mother said to me a rose today a bouquet tomorrow. Now that I am in my late 30's I really understand her meaning, and find extreme humor behind her meaning. I guess a tattoo isn't a bad thing, and I can see that it means a lot to you. You must be trying to remember someone extra special. I lost a good friend when I was just out of high school. Perhaps you could do a collage of all of your favorite photos, or if you have several momentos you could have a shadow box professional done with things you have kept. Just remember, a tattoo is permenant, and may not be socially acceptable in the business world you are going to work so hard to get into. Someone once said to me, that you can dress like you want, wear what you want, cut your hair like you want etc., but if you choose to go outside societies norms, you have to work that much harder to earn peoples respect.

Well i have 2 tattoos and i am 20yrs old and i am in college and i also am going to be a business woman I'm going to be a teacher. My advice to u is as long as the tattoo can be covered up than there is no problem getting it. A lot of people think that if you get a tattoo than you won't be able to get a good job and that is not true.Their are a lot of professional people with tattoos but you will never know that they have them because they are covered up. I see if you wanted a tattoo on your neck or face than yeah that would be out of line but on your arm naw. Gurl if i was you i would get it forget wat everyone else think.

If that person was REALLY special and important to you, then i would say go for it. You may want to consider getting it in a different place, maybe on your hip (not your lower back, its over done and not original any more) Ifyou get it in a place that you can hide, then i won't affect yourambitions for the corporate world. Just remember, it should mean something to you. What you may want to try if you're worried about it being permanent is draw out what you want to get done and put it in a place you have to see everyday. leave it there for 2 months...if you still like it after 2 months you'll probably like it a few years down the way.

First, make sure this isn't a whim. Sit and think for a while. Second, put in a place that can be hidden when you want and uncovered when you want to show it. A tattoo arist friend of mine once said to a girl who really wanted a tattoo on her neck, before getting any ink - think of the place you want it, then imagine your wedding day - would you want the tattoo to be seen in your wedding pictures? So either don't get one, get one that can be hidden, or be proud of the design and show the world.
I've got 4, for a guy it's easier, very rarely would you wear shorts, or no shirt to work.

Many men and woman in the corporate world have tattoos. If you are worried about the possibility of having one effecting if you are able to get a job, promotion, or what not how about putting it somewhere that it can be covered?

It might have a negative effect in the corporate world. If the person means that much maybe get it in a non visible place on the arm like the upper part so that it can be covered at work

well if honoring her memory is important to you then maybe you should try something else like a piece of jewelry that you always wear with everything. this way you will have something that will remind you of her and you can share with other people but won't compromise your future success. oh, and my sister has 3 tattoos (upper arm and chest) and she has never had a problem in the corporate setting.

Get it someplace hidden, so when you do go to work, it wont be seen. If you get it on your back, no one would even know about it, unless you tell them. If you want to get a tattoo that is in rememberance of someone you cared for very much, then you get it, just make is small and hidden, no one will know, unless you want them too.

Never worry about what others have to say about something that you care about. You are getting it becuz of rememberance, to them...its just a tattoo. Girl, you go get your tattoo, and you be happy and confident about it.

it really depends on how u are gonna feel in the future, and where u get the ink. it seems u have doubts, so if i was u, i just wouldnt get it done. u dont need ink to remember someone by. if u care enough enough about that person to even consider it, then u know that your memory of them is secure enough to not need a physical reminder of them.
