Does anyone with a toddler have problems with them sleeping through the night? My daughter just turned 2yrs old and she wakes up every night crying. Sometimes I can get her to go back to sleep or sometimes she stays up. This happens almost every night. She has to be really tired to sleep through the night.

my daughter did this at two years old too. it went on for probably a month or so. i think it was because she was getting her back molars. and i thought we were done with teeth! she's almost three now and she wakes up occassionaly at night. we follow the same routine when it happens: i'll go in there and give her a drink and a kiss and tell her its still time to sleep. this usually works, once in a great while it doesn't. i would suggest that if your daughter is waking up to follow a routine each time. you may have to go in there a few times but just keep doing the same thing and she'll get the hang of it. it takes a lot of patience...
i don't suggest letting her cry it out, unless that has worked for her in the past. it never worked with my daughter. she would cry for hours and get so worked up she wouldn't sleep and our whole day would be ruined.
i wonder if it is teething if you could give her some tylenol before bed- talk to her doctor first though because it could be something else like nightmares or maybe she's just going through a growth spurt.
i think waking up at night is a phase most toddlers go through. good luck!

Stop putting her back to sleep and let her put herself down again. Barring any medical issues she has no reason other than wanting your attention, to wake up at night and not go back to sleep. Your trying to comfort her only wakes her up more.

Ge teh sleep lady's book "good night, sleep tight" its excellent for issues like this, and helps you find ways to get your child to fall asleep on her own, without crying it out like an animal in prison.
