I lost my father to this very disease. It was my mother's decision and she thought it would be best to bring him home and he was then cared for by hospice. I wouldn't have done it any other way. Hospice is a wonderful organization and I have the so much adoration for them.

At times he was disoriented and was in pain. However he was on massive pain killers and hospice was a God send. He didn't and could eat. It was a very sad time, however the most important thing you can do is just be there for them.

My dad had stage 4 cancer also and we brought him home with us. We felt that he would be more comfortable at home rather than the hospital. The best you can do to help him is to make sure he/she is confortable and in no pain. God Bless!!

Around the holidays, this isn't fair. Bring him home and that's where he will feel more at ease and not so scared, as long as you and others are there. Be there 24/7 if you can.

If he wants to come home, you will need hospice care for him. No, you can't take care of him yourself. Trust me. I tried to do that with an aunt a few years ago and it was too much for 2 people to handle. We got hospice to come out and help.
