Their called soft paws, and they're made out of vinyl. It doesn't sound like a good idea to me, because the claws need to grow and cats need to stretch their claws. I like my cats au-naturel, and they don't ever scratch the furniture (they never even tried, and I never used bitter apple spray or anything)
If you're having problems with your cats scratching furniture, spray some bitter-apple on it, and get them a nice big scratching post structure, and sprinkle some catnip on it.
Also, clip their claws, often (I do my cats' every two weeks). I know that's easier said than done! If you cats act like having their claws clipped is horrible torture, wait for them to be lying down, relaxed, and just play with paws, squeeze their toes and pinch / pull on their claws (gently). Give treats. Eventually they'll get used to their toes being manhandled and you can start to clip their claws - do it with your cat lying down. Clip until they start to freak out, then stop. Be very, very careful not to clip into the quick (just clip off the little sharp tip) - many vets aren't careful, and clip into the quick, and that's a big reason that a lot of cats HATE it.
I can do my 3 cats with no problem, some will just sit in my lap and others I can only do if they are lying down and very relaxed (if they are hyper, they tend to bounce around a lot)
Anyway, I could see using those soft paws on the hind feet. While my cats never scratch the furniture, sometime they jump off my lap and dig their hind claws in to me leg for traction. OUCH.

I tried these once on one of my cats, with mixed results. The caps are easy to apply and stay on well, though they do fall off after 4-6 weeks as the cat sheds the outer sheath of the claw (and they could eat the caps if they pull at them). They work well for problem scratching if the cat is scratching on a fabric with a tight weave (or on wood). My problem cat was only scratching on the carpet, and even with the soft paws on she was able to hook her claws in the loops of the carpet. Regular nail trimmings are best to prevent problems, but soft paws have their uses too.

I think they're a lot of trouble. If you know how to clip a cats claws without hurting the cat it's a whole lot easier and less expensive, since they need to be replaced regularly anyway. It's worth paying to get good, clear advice from your vet on how to clip your cat's claws and do it regularly. Your cat's touch will be gentle and you won't be driving it crazy with stuff glued onto its feet.

Yes, these items do exist. They are about 20.00 for a pack. You must clip the cats nails. Then you have to glue them to the cats nails.
If you hav ethe time and energy do do all that then let me suggest trimming your cats nails eveyother week. It's minor. Cats nails are clear so you can see the quick w/o hassle. It will take two people in teh beginning to do this but your cat will get used to it and you'll save money in the long run.
I get my cat used to clipping by playing w/her paws whenever possible.
Good luck

Pulling? Do you mean the cats nails get stuck on blankets n' such? If so, a simple nail trimming can cure that problem.
Other than that, nail caps are good, but run risk of falling off. They'll need to be replaced monthly.

Do you mean they get stuck on things or do you mean they claw things? If you mean they get stuck on things then just trim the cats nails. If you mean the cat claws things then it might help.

I'm sort of having trouble understanding what the question is exactly, but if it is what I'm thinking.. which would be "do they work" I think it all just depends on ur cat. It wouldn't hurt to try.. I've seen cats be okay with it and then I've seen them constantly falling off of others. So it's just something you'd have to try yourself.
