then beating the refridgerator with baseball bats while that person is locked inside?
A friend of mine said he would do it for $50, as long as he wasn't going to be seriously injured....
should he wear ear plugs to muffle the sound?
I'm 100% serious about this.

I should add that the $50 is in return for1 minute in the "the Box of Doom" (that's what we're calling it)...we're not going to kill him...geez, people....come on!

Oh, man...how many ways can I say it...THIS IS A TRULY AWFUL, STUPENDOUSLY BAD IDEA!!! The moment you shut the refrigerator door, the supply of fresh oxygen is cut off, which means that once he exhausts the supply inside the "box of doom" (what an appropriate name!), he will quickly suffocate. Suppose the unexpected happens and the door gets stuck shut? I have an upright freezer which occasionally takes a good deal of effort and time to get open, because the seal is so tight. If you insist on doing this anyway, at least drill a whole bunch of very large holes, at least a couple inches in diameter, in the sides and back (I'm assuming you're using a non-functional unit) all the way through to the inside to allow the passage of air in and out.
And yes, earplugs would be a dandy idea...although a ruptured ear drum or two will be the least of the potential problems he will be facing. May I say it again? THIS IDEA REALLY SUCKS!

If it's just one minute, and the fridge is solid enough to withstand impacts of the bat, the chances of death seem pretty low. Test the fridge first by hitting it with bats while empty, with the door open, to see how loud it is. Make sure your friend can hold his breath for a while. Take in a nice deep breath before entering the fridge. If he starts freaking out, let him out, and he loses the 50 bucks. The most important thing is to make sure he doesn't run out of oxygen, but if it's a decent sized container and he's holding his breath, it doesn't seem like he'd be able to use up all the oxygen and die in one minute. Of course, I'm not an expert, and you shouldn't blame anyone here if something goes wrong for, while probably not life-threateningly dangerous, is still a dumb idea.

Refridgerators are air tight, so your friend could die in there.
How, what happens if you can't open the door to get him out.
He could go deaf from the banging.
What if hitting the fridge releases freon and you kill him.
Put down the bats, and think up a new "jackass" stunt

i think you've watched to much jackass on mtv or something, but the guy could possiably sufficate, pending on how long he's in the fridge, other than than i dont think their would be any other damage if your using on a baseball bat....because a fridge is so think and insulated, most likely wouldnt even bother his ears, but i would wear the plugs just in case.....like i said running out of air would be the biggest concern....

I don't know, why don't you climb in and I will hit it and you let me know. I promise I will let you out! hee hee
Duh, How are you seriously going to hurt the metal refrigerator with a baseball bat??? Suffocation shouldn't bother your friend. Who needs air to breathe?

Suffocation. That's why you want to remove the refrigerator door when disposing of them. Children have been found dead in dumped refrigerators.
